There is also a filter bag indicator that detects pressure drops before the motor indicating a full bag or an obstruction in the air path. There is also a filter check indicator on the 6996A model that indicates a higher pressure in the post motor compartment, signaling a need to clean the washable HEPA filter. This "no-guess" system keeps you performing at optimum levels year round and saves you from wasting money by replacing filters that have not been used to their fullest extent.
The 6996A has Dirt Alert. This unique sensor system actually listens to the dirt being pulled into the system and alerts the user with LED lights when dirt is no longer being removed from the surface. The Dirt Alert lets you know the area is deep down clean, and it is ok to move on.
